Lee Blaney, Associate Professor, Chemical, Biochemical, and Environmental Engineering
Lee Blaney is a strong educator who engages, teaches, and mentors students in the classroom, lab, and field. His teaching philosophy is to provide a safe, yet robust, collaborative learning environment where students are challenged to think critically and outperform what they expect of themselves. Blaney’s students describe his style as approachable, challenging, enthusiastic, and respectful. He cultivates curiosity in his students and seeks out opportunities to connect with students and faculty across majors and departments. Blaney received his B.S. and M.S.
in environmental engineering from Lehigh University and his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
