Tamara Bhalla, Associate Professor, American Studies
Tamara Bhalla is a tireless advocate for faculty and for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Colleagues cite her kindness, generosity, and dedication to their personal and professional growth, and say she is a community builder, advocate, mentor, compassionate listener, and beacon for junior faculty. Bhalla advocates on both the institutional and societal issues affecting faculty. She is a founding member and chair of the Asian and Asian American Faculty and Staff Council and a member of the Inclusion Council and the CAHSS Women’s Faculty Network. She earned her B.A. in English literature from Boston University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English language and literature from the University of Michigan.
