Margaret Holland, Associate Professor, Geography and Environmental Systems
Margaret Holland is known as a kind, generous mentor who supports colleagues’ growth as faculty and community members. She shares experience in informal chats and gives constructive feedback on papers and proposals. In addition to mentoring individuals, Holland has led shared learning sessions for faculty, staff, and students. She is working to create a cross-institutional mentoring network for faculty from underrepresented groups who teach and conduct research on the environment and climate justice. She received her B.A. in physical geography and environmental studies from Middlebury College and her M.Sc. in land resources and Ph.D. in environment and resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
