Mark Berczynski, M.A. ’17, Lecturer, Engineering and Computing Education Program
Mark Berczynski is dedicated to helping first-year and transfer students develop as learners and as UMBC community members. Many of his students are still deciding their future direction and learning how to be successful in college. Through active listening and open dialogue, Berczynski adapts his courses based on student interests while still meeting course objectives. Students say he is a caring, energetic instructor who works to engage all students. He teaches computational thinking and the importance of communication and collaboration—skills students will use throughout their academic careers and beyond. He earned his B.S. in development sociology from Cornell University and his M.S. in information systems from UMBC.
