Sue Plitt, Associate Director, Employer Relations and Recruitment Programs, Career Center
Throughout her 15 year career at UMBC, Sue Plitt has dedicated herself to empowering students to create their own success by developing innovative programs and events that prepare UMBC undergraduates, graduates, and alumni for meaningful careers.
Under her leadership, UMBC’s Career Center has experienced incredible growth. In the last year alone, more than 9,000 job and intern opportunities were posted on UMBC’s online job board and the number of student interviews increased by 21 percent. She was also instrumental in event planning and participation, leading to a jump in Career Fair attendance by 30 percent. Plitt’s organizational skills, passion for student and employer success, initiative, and expertise in event planning have established her as a highly valued and respected member of the Career Center team.
Plitt also takes an active role supporting and representing the campus community, serving on many committees, including president of the Professional Staff Senate, executive board member of the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers and the Maryland Career Consortium.
Plitt received a B.A from Widener University and an MBA from University of Maryland University College.
